St Joseph’s is situated approximately seven miles from Rotherham and
serves a very wide catchment area. The school is set in beautiful
grounds in a pleasant town close to the M1 and within easy reach of
Sherwood Forest, the Derbyshire Peak District and the City of Sheffield.
The school was opened in 1964 as an infant and junior school, a nursery
was opened in 1972. The new nursery building that now houses our nursery
children opened just two years ago, it caters for 26 children in the
morning and 26 in the afternoon. All classes are in single year groups.
The school has a large playing field, separate playground and well
developed environmental area.
The
Head teacher is Mr. John Greenwood and he would be happy to welcome you
to the school if you wish to visit. We also have strong links through
our parish priest, Father Brian Green, with our Catholic Church of St.
Joseph's, just a short walk away from school.
